This Tire Road Hazard Program (“Program”) is offered by the selling dealer and administered
by Sonsio Management, Inc. (“Program Administrator”).
WHAT IS COVERED: This Road Hazard Program covers only tires sold by a dealership
participating in the Toyota Tire Center Road Hazard Program (“Eligible Tires”) and listed
on the original invoice. This Program covers eligible tires for a term of 24 months from the
date of purchase of the tires, or until 2/32” or less of tire tread remains, whichever occurs
first. Coverage is not transferable to any other vehicle or tires. This Program is limited to the
repair or replacement of tires damaged by a road hazard.
WHAT IS ROAD HAZARD DAMAGE? Road hazard damage occurs when a tire fails during
the course of normal driving on a road maintained by state or local authority due to
debris on the road surface. Nails, glass and potholes are the most common examples of
road hazards.
WHERE YOU CAN OBTAIN SERVICE: Whenever possible you should return your vehicle
to the original selling dealer. If you cannot return your vehicle to the original selling dealer,
you may contact the Program Administrator at 800-858-8882 during normal business hours
to receive assistance locating the nearest participating Toyota Tire Center dealership. If you
do not follow the Program Administrator’s instructions, the Program Administrator is not
obligated to reimburse or pay for the costs of any repairs or replacements.
FLAT TIRE REPAIR: If a tire is damaged due to a covered road hazard and can be safely
repaired, the tire may be repaired by the original dealer or a participating dealer. The repair
will be covered up to $20.00 per tire, per occurrence. You are responsible for any additional
amounts. The coverage will remain in effect for the repaired tire for the months remaining
from the date of original purchase of the Program, or until 2/32” or less of tread remains,
whichever occurs first.
TIRE REPLACEMENT: If, during the 24-month term, a tire covered by this Program is
damaged due to a covered road hazard and cannot be safely repaired per industry standards
and guidelines, and there is more than 2/32” of tread remaining, the tire should be
replaced with an exact make/model of tire if available. If not available, a comparable quality
tire should be installed. When a tire failure occurs in the first 12 months of ownership, and
the tire cannot be safely repaired, the tire will be replaced with coverage up to the original
purchase price of the tire or the replacement tire cost, whichever is less. When a tire fails
after the first 12 months, you are responsible for 50% of the purchase price of the original
tire. For example, if the original price of your tire was $100, and a tire is damaged in the 18th
month of Program coverage, the replacement will be covered at 50% of the original price,
$50.00. In no event shall 100% coverage benefit exceed $399.99 per covered tire. You are
responsible for any additional charges including, but not limited to, mounting, balancing,
taxes and miscellaneous fees.
WHAT YOU MUST DO TO MAKE A CLAIM:
1. If you have presented an eligible tire that has been damaged due to a road
hazard as defined above, the dealer will verify that less than 24 months has
elapsed from the date on the original purchase invoice and that the damaged
tire has more than 2/32” tread remaining.
2. If the dealer determines that the tire is repairable, the tire will be repaired as
described under Flat Tire Repair.
3. If the dealer determines that the tire cannot be repaired, the tire will be
replaced as described under Tire Replacement.
4. The dealer will submit the Toyota Tire Center Road Hazard claim application.
5. You must sign the repair or replacement invoice and provide the dealer with
the original invoice. The dealer will make a copy of both the original invoice
and the repair or replacement invoice and return the original invoice to you.
6. You are responsible for any and all charges not covered by the adjustment as
described above.
7. The damaged tire must be made available for inspection if requested by the
Toyota Tire Center Road Hazard Inspection Center.
8. Tires being replaced must be surrendered to the servicing dealer.
9. If the documentation submitted (and the tire, if requested) does not substantiate
the information provided at the time a claim is presented, and it is determined
that damage is not as a result of a covered road hazard, your claim will be
denied.
